TOON (Token-Oriented Object Notation) is a compact, human-readable encoding of JSON designed for LLM prompts. Objects use YAML-like indentation, arrays declare their length (tags[3]: a,b,c), and arrays of objects with the same fields become a table (users[2]{id,name}: followed by one row per line), so repeated keys are written only once. It saves the most on large, uniform arrays; deeply nested data saves less.
