Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 Oct, 2026

This policy explains what information Technical Simple ("we") collects when you use technicalsimple.com, why we collect it and the choices you have.

Information you give us

  • Newsletter: your name and email address, used only to send you new articles. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Contact form: your name, email address and message, used to reply to you.
  • Comments: your name, email address and comment. Your name and comment are shown publicly once approved; your email address is never published.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address: used to count article views, to limit comment spam and in our server logs for security.
  • Search terms: what you search for on the site, stored without any link to you, so we can see which topics readers are missing.
  • Article feedback: "Was this helpful?" votes are counted anonymously.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your light/dark theme choice, your bookmarks and your feedback votes are saved in your own browser's local storage and never sent to us. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. It is shared only with the services that run the site for us, such as our hosting and email providers, and only so they can provide that service.

Keeping and deleting your data

Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages and comments are kept for as long as they are useful to answer you or show your comment. To have your information removed, contact us at info@technicalsimple.com.

Security

Staff passwords are stored hashed, admin access can be protected with two-factor authentication and the database is backed up daily. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information you share with us.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
